TBS will be the exclusive home of the American League throughout the 2016 MLB Postseason beginning withAmerican League Wild Card Coverage on TBS Presented by Hankook TiretomorrowTuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. ETwhen 2015 AL MVP Josh Donaldson and the Toronto Blue Jays host All-Star Manny Machado and theBaltimore Orioles.  Sports Emmy Award winning commentator Ernie Johnson will provide play-by-play for the game with veteran MLB on TBS analysts Ron Darling and Cal Ripken, Jr. and reporter Sam Ryan.  Ripken will be positioned at field level to bring fans additional access and insight from the closest vantage point during the telecast.

Pregame coverage for the A.L. Wild Card will begin with the MLB Postseason Pre-Game Show on TBS presented by the All-New Chrysler Pacifica at 7:30 p.m. featuring Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, nine-time All-Star Gary Sheffieldand 2007 NL MVP Jimmy Rollins joining host Casey Stern.  The studio team will also offer postgame analysis via The MLB Postseason Show on TBS presented by The Lincoln Motor Company.

The network’s exclusive American League Division Series (ALDS) Coverage on TBS presented by T-Mobile will beginThursday, Oct. 6, at 4 p.m., with MLB Postseason Pre-Game on TBS presented by the All-New Chrysler Pacifica.  At4:30 p.m., the No. 1 seeded Texas Rangers with aces Cole Hamels and Yu Darvish will host the winner of the A.L. Wild Card Game, followed by Boston Red Sox, featuring AL MVP candidate Mookie Betts and sluggerDavid Ortiz opening their series on the road against 2014 AL Cy Young Award Winner Corey Kluber, second-year standout shortstopFrancisco Lindor and the Cleveland Indians at 8 p.m.  Johnson will provide play-by-play for the Red Sox vs. Indians series with Darling, Ripken and Ryan.  Brian Anderson will call the best-of-five Blue Jays/Orioles vs. Rangers series with analysts Dennis Eckersley and Joe Simpson and reporter Matt Winer.

TBS will also exclusively televise the American League Championship Series (ALCS), scheduled to begin Friday, Oct. 14, with Game 1 of the best-of-seven series. 

Live streaming coverage of all MLB Postseason games airing on TBS will be available via www.tbs.com and the Watch TBS app.  Fans will be able to access the games whenever and wherever they desire by logging in with the user name and password provided by their TV service provider.  Additionally, all MLB on TBS Postseason game telecasts will be available in Spanish via SAP.  Upcoming AL Postseason game telecasts will also be available on CNN en Español.

The network’s MLB Postseason game coverage will include:

  • Ripken stationed at field level to provide analysis from a dugout position, allowing him to share additional perspective from the closest possible vantage point
  • A new top of screen score bar and corresponding graphics package
  • For the first time, two cameras positioned at the foul poles to shoot straight up and assess fair and foul home run balls
  • Five super slo-mo HD cameras that can show 6x slo-mo replays.  During the ALCS, a sixth camera will be added with the ability for 8x super mo playback
  • A LiveVu camera capturing the excitement of the road city during both the AL Wild Card Game and the ALCS

New production enhancements for the 2016 MLB Postseason studio shows will include:

  • A new studio layout and features will allow TBS to tell the story of what’s happening around the game/in the postseason series with video, graphics and stats
  • A studio design with the look and feel of some of the modern ballparks with brick pillars/walls, textures and colors
  • A moveable pillar at the back of the room that can be re-created virtually to allow for freer camera movements and angled shots
  • Use of virtual ballpark graphics in front and to the side of the new curved desk. TBS will have use of four of these during the postseason to highlight unique ballpark angles, display spray charts, defensive alignments, lineups and analyst demos
  • A new desk that includes a curved LED monitor for graphics, statistics and sponsor information

MLB on TBS “Studio F” stats:

  • Five mounted 75-inch plasma screens will be used for graphics, highlights, player stats (four next to the desk and one mounted on the back wall pillar)
  • A total of 162 individual monitors are being used for the set backdrop, the curved display and the desk
  • More than 380 light fixtures and 60 LED fixtures have been installed, allowing the ability to change lighting to replicate the feel of a day game or a night game
  • Four cameras will be used, including two hard cams, a steady cam and a techno jib with a virtual component
